Professor, Bohui Tang 

Kunming University of Science and Technology, China


Profile: Bohui Tang is a professor at Kunming University of Science and Technology, a researcher at the Institute of Geographic Sciences and Natural Resources Research of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), and a doctoral supervisor. He is also a specially appointed professor under the “National High-Level Talent” program. He graduated in 1999 from Wuhan University of Surveying and Mapping Technology, majoring in Cartography and Geographic Information Systems, earning a bachelor's degree. In 2004 and 2007, he obtained his master's and doctoral degrees respectively in Cartography and Geographic Information Systems from the China Remote Sensing Satellite Ground Station of CAS and the Institute of Geographic Sciences and Natural Resources Research of CAS. From August 2009 to January 2010, he conducted collaborative research on remote sensing inversion of surface parameters at the International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD). Between July 2013 and June 2014, he was a visiting scholar at the University of Strasbourg, France. His main research focuses on quantitative remote sensing inversion of surface parameters and methods for remote sensing estimation of surface net radiation. He has led more than 30 projects, including subprojects of the 973 Program, key projects under the 863 Program, topics under the National Key R&D Program, projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, major direction projects under the CAS Knowledge Innovation Program, and subprojects under EU-funded projects. To date, he has published 68 SCI papers (28 as first or corresponding author), cited over 2,000 times, with an h-index of 24. He holds 26 nationally authorized patents (12 as the first inventor), and has authored one monograph and translated one book.
